Our PCB production process just got a ‘hole’ lot quicker!

Hi 5 have now completed the investment plans for the 2012/2013 financial year and, with it, upgraded their PCB production process.

We have invested in two pieces of high technology equipment which further enhance our capability to produce quality printed circuit boards in the shortest possible time.

Our AOI, a Lloyd Doyle Excalibur, was selected because the combination of technology of comparison and net-list functionality gives us the maximum reliability of evaluation on single panel jobs; a key part of our service to customers.

Peter Coakley, Sales Director of Lloyd Doyle, was delighted shake hands with Richard Houghton of Hi5 Electronics on the completion of a very satisfactory installation .

We have just completed the installation of a Pluritec Multistation single spindle autoloading high technology drilling machine.

With a high speed spindle, linear motor table positioning at 25M/min (800 miles per hour!!) and 840 drill bits stored onboard, together with a magazine of 20 jobs, we can massively increase the productivity of our drill room and in turn, speed up our PCB production process.

At the same time, the machine has contact drilling capability, which greatly enhances our ability to drill large numbers of blind via holes.

This machine was supplied and installed by Viking Test Services, UK agents for Pluritec, Italy.

Managing director Jake Kelly said it was one of the most trouble free installations they had ever done, and they were delighted to have the engineer home by Christmas.
